Meet the Doctor
Aimee Green DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, ABAAHP, COHN-S
Aimee Green, is a doctorally prepared nurse practitioner who is triple board certified in family medicine, functional medicine, and occupational medicine. With over 20 years of experience in healthcare—including a decade in advanced practice—she brings a deeply rooted, comprehensive approach to patient care.
As the founder of Rooted Health, she focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness rather than simply managing symptoms. Her approach blends evidence-based conventional medicine with functional and integrative strategies to support long-term health, vitality, and disease prevention.
Prior to establishing Rooted Health, Aimee served as a nurse practitioner at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. There, she helped develop a comprehensive screening program and incorporated functional medicine principles into primary care, with a focus on improving health outcomes for first responders and their families. This experience further strengthened her expertise in early detection, risk reduction, and proactive, personalized care.
Earlier in her career, Aimee practiced as both a women’s health and integrative nurse practitioner, where she developed a strong foundation in holistic, patient-centered care. She specializes in nutrition and lifestyle medicine, hormone optimization for both men and women, metabolic health, targeted supplementation, and peptide therapy—always tailoring care to the unique needs of each individual.
Aimee is passionate about empowering her patients to take an active role in their health. She believes that with the right tools, guidance, and support, people can not only feel better—but truly thrive and age with strength, energy, and purpose.
Outside of the clinic, Aimee enjoys living out the principles she teaches—staying active, spending time outdoors with her family, and creating healthy, delicious meals at home. She is a proud wife and mom to two energetic daughters (and one beloved pup), and values a balanced, wellness-focused lifestyle.
Why is there a cost for out-of-network consultations?
When was the last time you saw a doctor? What was your experience like?
Unfortunately, after several decades of an insurance-driven sick care model, the U.S. population is experiencing poorer health than ever. Insurance companies drive reimbursement rates which has caused clinicians to adapt and see more patients in less time. In this model there is not enough time to truly listen to and get to know a patient, nonetheless, perform comprehensive testing and address the root cause of symptoms through lifestyle medicine.
It’s no surprise that chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and autoimmunity top the list of conditions that are both making us sick and slowly killing us. Although there is an extensive body of research demonstrating lifestyle factors such as nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and sleep can prevent disease by up to 80%, somehow our society has been convinced to accept the opposite. We have been convinced that disease if part of life, disease comes naturally with age, and disease is mostly tied to genetic factors. These things could not be further from the truth!
It’s time we take back our health, begin to age gracefully, and enjoy a genuinely well life!
What is Functional Medicine?
The Institute for Functional Medicine, 2024 -
"Functional medicine is a systems biology–based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease. Each symptom or differential diagnosis may be one of many contributing to an individual’s illness. The precise manifestation of each cause depends on the individual’s genes, environment, and lifestyle, and only treatments that address the right cause will have lasting benefit beyond symptom suppression."
Healthy equals wealthy.
